Hello,
It has come to my attention, that on a rx8640 server, with 2 npars, the CELL_PDH entity in sysrev is different on cells 0 and 1:
PROGRAMMABLE HARDWARE :
System Backplane : GPM EMMUX
----------- -----------
001.001.000 001.000.000
IO Backplane : IO_LPM-0 IO_LPM-1
----------- -----------
001.001.001 001.001.001
Core IO : CIO-0 CIO-1
----------- -----------
001.002.000 001.002.000
CELL_LPM CELL_JTAG CELL_PDH
----------- ----------- -----------
Cell 0 : 001.002.000 001.002.000 001.004.000
Cell 1 : 001.002.000 001.002.000 001.005.001
FIRMWARE:
Core IO
MP-0 : B.002.004.009
ED-0 : 002.003.000
MP-1 : B.002.004.009
ED-1 : 002.003.000
Cell 0
PDHC : B.023.003.040 - Active
PDHC : B.023.003.033
IPF_FW : 009.066.000 - Active
IPF_FW : 007.044.000
Cell 1
PDHC : B.023.003.040 - Active
PDHC : B.023.003.033
IPF_FW : 009.066.000 - Active
IPF_FW : 007.048.000
With the firmware copy tool from the MP, I can copy the PDHC and IP firmware from one cell to the other, but is there a way to level out the Programmable Hardware CELL_PDH between cells, with out having to update the full complex via ftp/iso ?
What are these entitys in charge of, CELL_LPM CELL_JTAG CELL_PDH ?
Thanks for the help

SolutionHi,
there is no way to copy the FPGA FW between cells. You need to take that FW from the related FW bundle. You do not need to reflash the FW that has already the correct version.
Note that your system has a mix of different FW bundles anyway, e.g. MP, ED, IO_LPM and GPM are on bundle 2.0, cells are on 4.2 (except cell 0 PDH FPGA).
So you need to plan a downtime anyway to update the complete system.
To get access to the latest (or even previous) FW bundle, register to HP Support Center (HPSC).
Kind Regards
Holger

Thnx, I will update the full bundle when I have a chance.
