RAID w/rx4640 an DS2300 (HPUX 11)

Hi,

I'm trying to configure hardware RAID 0+1 with 4 physical drives inside the DS 2300, do I need a RAID controller? Wich?

Hello Sergio,

The HP product A9890A (SmartArray 6402 2 channel U320) offers a hardware RAID solution and is currently scheduled to be supported with rx4640 running HP-UX in May 2004 (note that schedules can always slip).

It should be noted that there is currently no scheduled support with the A9890A (or any other Smart Array controller) with the ds2300 or ds21x0 JBODs. Customers should be connecting to the MSA30 SB (single bus), DS30 DB (dual bus) or the StorageWorks 4300 enclosure family of external JBOD's.
