RX 4640 - Hardware is not booting

I have a issue with box RX 4640.

The problem is, the box-hardware is rebooting by itself, and it is continuing like a cycle.

When the box powred-on, on the VGA-monitor, i am getting the following messages.

....................
CPU Launching EFI
................

WARNING: BMC System event log full
.........................
............................
Loading FPSWA
searching for SCSI devices
........................
Broadcom gigabit ethernet NIC found.
............................
............................
and it is suddenly and very fastly throwing some messages, and the box is rebooting.

the box is non-stop rebooting by itself.

Please any one tell me, what is the issue ?

Re: RX 4640 - Hardware is not booting

I would suggest to connect to iLO MP serial or LAN console and capture the all messages since power-on. There maybe some hardware issue causing MCA.

Did it happen suddenly while server was working normal earlier? or any changes or activity carried on this server?

"and it is suddenly and very fastly throwing some messages, and the box is rebooting"

Capture the message or have a look into the console log on the MP.

Hope this helps!

Re: RX 4640 - Hardware is not booting

The messages which i can see from MP logs and the messages which are appearing very fastly are given bellow.

SAL_CHECK initialized store
Machine check initiated
Processor PSP
MCA: Uncorrected machine check
OS MCA address not registered.

Any help what could be the problem ?

Hi Shashi,

Can you post

MP>sl == select E for event & D to dump it attach the file here..

MP>sl == select F & D to dump.

You can bring the system into single user mode by interrupting the boot process at EFI..

Re: RX 4640 - Hardware is not booting

your system has uncorrected machine check. if it can't boot up, try taking out as many cpu/memory and i/o adapters from the system and try booting up with minimum cpu/memory. this will help isolating the hardware that caused the uncorrectable machine check.

you can also check the led 1,2,3,4 status on the rx4640 server to find out the cause of the fault.
