RX2620 partition disk for Windows

Hi All,

Need help i have RX2620 Integrity and old Operating system is HPUX, now the client he want to install Windows 2003 64bit. Now my problem is how to partition the disk for Windows there is any utility tools to partition it? and i tried to download the Smart Setup 5.1 (ISO image) but cant boot in EFI, any help what cds i need it to run the express setup (EBSU)

Hi Joelmel,

With the RX 2620 integrity server the smart start cd also comes you boot the system with the cd do the partations and RAID with array configuration utility and install the os

you may find you have to change some of the I/O cards in this server to succesfuly run Windows

Don't mix this up!

SmartStart is for Proliant

SmartSetup is for Integrity

I guess you cannot have both (impossible is nothing ;-)), HP-UX and Win on the same disk, but no problem to have it on different disks.

Consider to use HP Integrity virtual machines - so you can have HP-UX and Windows (and Linux) running at the same time.

Thanks all, my problem is only the ISO image filesystem format on downloaded Smart Setup v5.1.

SOLUTION:
Steps to create FAT ISO image.


On HP-UX Itanium systems.


Create and Format an iso image upto 650 megs

# dd if=/dev/zero of=/PATH/image.iso bs=1024k count=650
# efi_fsinit -d /PATH/image.iso

Copy data to the mounted filesystem.
# efi_cp -d /PATH/image.iso -r /usr/lib/efi /
# efi_cp -d /PATH/image.iso /PATH/FILES /
# efi_ls -d /PATH/image.iso

Copy iso image to any system with CD burner and software.

Burn CD using any software that supports burning iso images. (nero etc...)
