RX2800 i2 ILO rebooted on its own

These messages were found on four out of five RX2800 i2 ILO

for fourth system I do not have output and fifth system did not exhibit problem.

So far I have not been able to find anything w.r.t to ILO reboot due ILO_RST_REASON_WATCHG.

Systems in question did not have power outage at all, operating system has been running just fine. Os is OpenVMS V8.4 by the way.

ALL ILOs are connected to a private lan segment with no "network access" to rest of world.

Any advise appreciated

Re: RX2800 i2 ILO rebooted on its own

Re: RX2800 i2 ILO rebooted on its own

Hi ,

I could see the ILO had experienced a Watchdog Reset during April' and all in sequence dtd. 26,27 and 28..

Is there any known activity/maintainence performed at the site.

I understnd the system now running fine, Like Torsten asked , what is the firmware level of the systems, if fgw level is low , plan for the latest upgrade.

I work for HPE

Accept or Kudo

SYSREV

 Revisions        Active    Pending

 -------------------------------------

 iLO FW         : 01.59.01

 System FW      : 01.95

 MHW FPGA       : 02.02

 Power Mon FW   : 02.09

 PRS HW         : 02.06

 IOH HW         : 02.02

 Power Supply 1 : 02.01

 Power Supply 2 : 02.01

So no, we do not have latest bundle. Looks like we are 28.00 level and latest is 29.00 which would not new system fw and new ilo. Time to speak with customer...

Re: RX2800 i2 ILO rebooted on its own

no maintenance at the time at all. Systems are running fine now and were running just fine at that time too.

ILO seems to have rebooted on its own for whatever reason. Fw has been upgraded to 28.00 level somewhere in MAR-2017 timeframe and this "ILO reboot on its own" seems to occur on APR-2018,

the order of "ILO reboot" does not even match the sequence of fw upgrades and thus ILO reboots on MAR-2017, so this does not appear to be systematic "reboot after xxx days"

I do not see any notion that newer ILO fw would have anything like this fixed but upgrading fw to latest is good idea anyway
