Hello Expert,
I am trying to update the BIOS fw for rx3600 using USB. I have 2 rx3600 server, for 1st server it went smoothy and upgraded the fw. In 2nd fw when I am connecting teh USB it showing USB only in blk mode, no fs mode.
Please help why usb is showing like this and how to fix this:
Shell> map -r
Device mapping table
blk0 : Acpi(HWP0002,PNP0A03,0)/Pci(2|1)/Usb(0, 0)
blk1 : Acpi(HWP0002,PNP0A03,400)/Pci(1|0)/Scsi(Pun2,Lun0)
blk2 : Acpi(HWP0002,PNP0A03,400)/Pci(1|0)/Scsi(Pun7,Lun0)
blk3 : Acpi(HWP0002,PNP0A03,0)/Pci(2|1)/Usb(1, 0)
blk4 : Acpi(HWP0002,PNP0A03,0)/Pci(2|1)/Usb(1, 0)/HD(Part1,SigC3072E18)
I tried connecting other USB also but all shows in blk mode only and after removing usb it still remains the blk mode.
regards,
Syed

Re: RX3600 USB showing in blk0 mode only.
File system damaged? This may happen.
Insert the stick back to a windows machine and let it check.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: RX3600 USB showing in blk0 mode only.
File system is ok. I already tried that by downloading a new fw and using in another USB which is also detecting as blk3 and blk4 but no fs mode.
How to convert from blk mode to fs mode?
Regards,
Syed

Re: RX3600 USB showing in blk0 mode only.
Hi Syed,
Please try the following command:
Shell>mount blkdevice [sname] - Mounts a fs on a block device
Example:
shell>mount blk0 fs4
HTH

Re: RX3600 USB showing in blk0 mode only.
1. Which USB device are you using, USB stick or USB CD/DVD drive?
2. Which USB port are you using, front port or rear core IO USB port (Left/Right)?
3. Have you tried to use other USB port?
4. Have you tried to use the vMedia and check to see if your USB device file system appears?
5. Your description below is strange. Did you check to see if the system rebooting or EFI map -r clears the USB blk3/4 devices?
blk3 : Acpi(HWP0002,PNP0A03,0)/Pci(2|1)/Usb(1, 0)
blk4 : Acpi(HWP0002,PNP0A03,0)/Pci(2|1)/Usb(1, 0)/HD(Part1,SigC3072E18)
-- after removing usb it still remains the blk mode.

SolutionHello Expert,
Thanks for all your support.
This issue has been fixed and I forgot to update. I just tried formating the usb and downloading the fresh fw and it worked for me.
Once again many thanks for all your support.

Re: RX3600 USB showing in blk0 mode only.
There is no known firmware issue on detecting the USB device file systems. Your old message below had me believe that your USB device had been formatted correctly since your USB device had been recognized with the other server correctly.
- the same usb with firmware is detecting on other serevr with fs0.

In future, I suggest you will check your USB devices always after refleshing it with the format operation. Or copy your map fs* outputs to the chat message.
