Rx2660 - EFI how 2 change bott from local disk to SAN

Hi,

We currently use a Rx2600 and boot it on local disk.

For backing up or security we use "drd clone" command to clone the local system disk on a SAN LUN.

1) How can we "told" the EFI to discover the SAN LUN where we did the "clone" ?

2) How can we choose this new device to boot on it ?

Thanks

If the "drd clone" command was successful in creating the clone, you can use "drd activate" command to change the primary boot path. Use the -x reboot=false|true option if you want to reboot right away. Use "setboot -v" to verify boot paths.

Re: Rx2660 - EFI how 2 change bott from local disk to SAN

Cloning with DRD sets the alternate boot path to the clone. While activating the clone, the path to the clone becomes the primary boot path, the original disk becomes the alternate.

No need to search from EFI.

This is the same for rx2600 and rx2660.

In case you really need to search a SAN based LUN from EFI, you need to adjust the efiscanlevel inside the FC cards BIOS.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: Errors - EFFIE how 2 change boot from local disk to SAN

Thanks you folks,

I have also found how to change the driver parameter in the EFI console (shell> prompt) to scan all presented LUN Devices of the SAN at boot time.
