Servers firmware updates

Hi Team ,

  Kindly suggest how to check exsisting server firamware versions and how to update latest firmwares.

First let us check what version is running.

Connect to MP and run

MP:CM> sysrev

post the result!

As Torsten suggested, you can find current firmware using sysrev from MP console.
To update the firmware, you have to download the firmware in tar.gz format from hp.com which will contain these files--> fweupdate_1p91.efi
fweupdate_prerun_s0415_b0526_mF0226.efi
update_SFW.nsh
install_manual.txt

You need to boot the server into EFI shell and give below command to start firmware update.
# update_SFW.nsh

You can copy all these files to EFI partition from Unix shell or you can use pen drive also, procedures are given in install manual.

I have attached steps for your reference. The samefile you can find install manual text file.

Your system f/w is very old, you need to download the latest firmware and follow install notes to update the same.

Current boot ROM is B with FW version 04.11 and second boot ROM A is having old firmware version 03.01.
You need to update the firmware in boot ROM B and then copy the image from B to A.

Use the first link I gave you, get the files and update the system firmware from 4.11 to 4.15.

It is usually enough to have the current version in either ROM A or B.
