Re: Setting up a new HP RX7640 for the 1st time
Thanks very much for the reply.
The RX7640 I am talking about came with only one full height DVD drive and that creates some confusions: Is it only one server or a two in one server ?
As the site engineer, how can I clarify this ?
Thanks

MP:CM> cp
This will show you if you have 1 or 2 nPars.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Setting up a new HP RX7640 for the 1st time
Thanks for your reply.
Asuming that it is 2 npars, how would the single DVD-Drive usage be ? Is there a way to share the DVD drive between the two servers ? How would I install the OS on each of the two since we have only one DVD Drive ?
Best Regards,
Berenger

Re: Setting up a new HP RX7640 for the 1st time
You need either 2 slimeline drives or an external drive.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Setting up a new HP RX7640 for the 1st time
if the server was Built To Order, it will already be divided into partitions (if two npar configuration was requested) and the OS will already be installed. If this is not the case, you can use Ignite-UX server to install the OS if you don't have the two slim DVD config.

Re: Setting up a new HP RX7640 for the 1st time
After entering CM: cp , only one partition is shown : Partition0. Moreover after powering on the server only cell1 green light at the front panel comes ON, cell0 light does not show any sign of life.
Does it mean that I have only one cell in the rx7640 instead of 2 ?
What should I do to create a second partition if possible ?
