Tape drive solution on rx4640 (ia64) machine running 11.31

Hi,

We have a rx4640 (ia64) machine with 2x 146GB HDD, 4GB RAM, 4 Processors and running 11.31 HP-UX without mirroring.

We want to go for a tape drive which can take ignite backup of this system? Can you please let us know how can we make it happen? Which drive to buy and what capacity etc.?

I guess it depends how much you want to spend...

The cheaper solution would be a DAT drive - this is the recommended one:

Or for a few more $$$ you could look at an LTO instead - for the volume of data you have here, you'd only need a lower spec LTO such as this:

Remember Ignite is a a Disaster Recovery tool for recovering the OS. It *is not* a backup tool for anything apart from the OS - you still need to think about how you backup your application on this system.
