UID Led

Hi Folks,

I have a dense rack full of 10 servers.

Can anyone how can I activate the UID LED of the rx 2600? Can I activate them from the command prompt as well?

Thanks

Re: UID Led

Connect to the MP and use

LOC : Locator LED display

Hope this helps!

Re: UID Led

I guess this UID (Unit Indicator) is useful for server identification especially in a data center environment. But this is more useful when performing remote server identification.

Thus is there any HP-UX commands that can on/off the uid led?

Re: UID Led

The locator LED is exactly made for this reason ... ;-)

I'm not aware of a hp-ux command, but as said above, connect (remotely) to the MP (telnet/ssh/web) and turn it on!

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: UID Led

Well, you can script a telnet session from the machine itself to its own mp. But that's only a use of Torsten answer :)
