Very new to HP-UX and integrity servers.
I am trying to update an AB378B HBA which is inside an RX3600.
I have downloaded a multiboot image and run the following command:
fcmsutil /dev/fcd0 rom_fw_update /tmp/Q24A2181.BIN
This updated the firmware version but the BIOS didnt update?
Any ideas how I update the BIOS for the HBA?
Thanks
John

How did you determine this?
What's a "BIOS"? Does an rx3600 have one?
Showing actual commands with their actual
output can be more helpful than vague
descriptions and interpretations (especially
when one is "Very new to HP-UX and integrity
servers".)

Oh, you mean that DOS/Windows stuff?:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BIOS
> The HBA has a BIOS.
Does HP-UX use it? (If not, then who cares
how old it is?)
> Any idea how I update the BIOS?
How do you know that there's an updated one?

Re: Updating HBA on HP RX3600
Just copy to a thumb drive and run the update from EFI shell.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Solutionthe recommended firmware version for AB378B HBA is fw 5.03.02.
Download the hp_qxx246xaf1.89risc5.03.02.zip file from
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=pl&prodTypeId=329290&prodSeriesId=3365397&swItem=co-83145-1&prodNameId=3365398&swEnvOID=4001&swLang=8&taskId=135&mode=4&idx=0
and follow the installation instruction in attached release notes.
The upgraded components are: EFI driver and RISC firmware. This upgrade tool upgrades BIOS also, but BIOS is not used on Integrity/HP-UX servers.
Regards,
Zygmunt
