WWID numbers

I have an RX6600 server with 8 SAS drives installed question?

Where is the WWID stored on the drive? Is it 'hardcoded' like a MAC address? or is it written to the drive media and could be changed?

10 point to the first person to give a coherent answer!
Today is different and tomorrow the same.

Re: WWID numbers

the WWID of a local disk is assigned by the OS since it treats it as a LUN. if you have HP 11i v3 installed you can view it using the scsimgr command
scsimgr get_attr "identifier"
where identifier is the LUN or disk u want to view its WWID.
and to change it
scsimgr set_attr wwid=xxx
