cant add disks to rx6600

I have rx6600 with 4 internal disks configured in two volumes. I added 2 disks, and tried to create a new raid volume, getting: number of existing volumes is 2, max volumes supported per HBA is 2, failed to add volume. Can I change the number of volumes per HBA? Otherwise - how am i supposed to be able to add drives/volumes here? thanks

Do you use HP-UX?
Which kind of I/O backplane do you have -
PCI-X or PCI-Express?

Re: cant add disks to rx6600

I'm sure you have the default built-in SAS controller chip - this chip can mirror 2 pairs of disks, not more (per 8 disk group). All other disks can only accessed in direct mode.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.
