Re: general quories

Logging into the console through the Maintenance Processor. Use control-B.

You can use "swapinfo -tam".

Re: general quories

Dear Ragesh

MP:

The service processor in HP servers is The service processor in HP servers is sometimes called the Management Processor (MP) and sometimes the Guardian Service Processor (GSP).
Regardless of the name, the service processor in these servers provides approximately the same features and performs essentially the same role.

swapinfo -tam

Lun:
A LUN is a Logical Unit Number. It can be used to refer to an entire physical disk, or a subset of a larger physical disk or disk volume. The physical disk or disk volume could be an entire single disk drive, a partition (subset) of a single disk drive, or disk volume from a RAID controller comprising multiple disk drives aggregated together for larger capacity and redundancy.

take hyperterminal from windows then follow up the steps u can configure like this way
a. From the desktop screen, click Start, Programs, Accessories,
Communications, HyperTerminal. The Connection Description window
is displayed.
b. Enter a name for the description, and click OK. The Connect To window
is displayed.
c. Select the Communication Port that is connected to the KVM switch
through a serial cable, then click OK. The COM1 Properties window
is displayed.
d. Select 9600 for the Bits Per Second, 8 for Data Bits, None for Parity, 1 for

auto-connects to the console switch.
e. Press the Enter key to access the console switch option menu.

and once u got the MP console
u can etner the Admin/Admin this the factory made passwd/username

if u are system is down but u console is sitll there it is not down so u can access console and u can do a lot of jobs in console side.

u can do it either through lan console or serial console

Re: general quories

The primary purpose of MP login is to access the system console. I suspect there will be a great deal more about the MP in one or more of the sysadmin/system manuals that at least at one time were at docs.hp.com.

Re: general quories

A quorum disc is something used by ServiceGuard to form an HA cluster. I suspect that the ServiceGuard manuals which at least at one point were on docs.hp.com would discuss it reasonably well.

Re: general quories

Unless of course, you're running OpenVMS, in which case the quorum disk is a feature of OpenVMS clustering. Your questions seem to cover a wide area. It might help if you could tell us what you are trying to achieve.

Re: general quories

hi,

also used by windows clusters and linux clusters , usually to provide a tie-break when a cluster splits to avoid having both parts running independently. implementation varies by OS.
