I have an rx4640 running HP-UX 11.23. I wanted to know if this server could run hyperthreads if I upgrade the OS to HP-UX 11.31.
This server has two single core Itanium 2 processors, A9732A. I think they are the "Madison" version, not Monticeto. I have read that hyperthreads can run on Itanium 2 processors, but I have also read that they started with Itanium 2 Monticeto.
Does anyone have an answer?
Thanks

Hi,
Yes, you need Montecito for HT, Madison is single thread.
These might help:

Re: hyperthreads on rx4640
My server won't be able to use hyperthreads, the processor is too old.
