Re: ia64 hp superdome server SD32A Itanium B.11.23

Hi,

-q option

Displays the status of all OLA/R capable slots in the system. In the output, slots with the same bus number share the same PCI Bus. Output fields detailed below; some descriptions are platform dependent.

I guess slot 0 is not OLA/R capable.

Re: ia64 hp superdome server SD32A Itanium B.11.23

I don't know what type of SD server you have, but probably it is the core I/O slot - the core I/O card is not hot-swappable - hence not listed in olrad.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: ia64 hp superdome server SD32A Itanium B.11.23

As you can see in the object it's a Itanium Supedome. At the bottom the ouput of my PA RISC superdome, just for me understanding, in this case i'm able to see the slot 0 with command rad -q, What does it means? That in the SD PA RISC , i can change the core i/o using rad? and in the SD Itanium how many pci slots are available in the i/o chassis, considering that in the Itanium SD sx2000 the core i/o is in the pdh ?
thanks

Torsten say's: "I don't know what type of SD server you have, but probably it is the core I/O slot - the core I/O card is not hot-swappable - hence not listed in olrad."

In the rad -d output in my superdome Pa Risc the slot 0 (core i/o) is listed....so...can i swap with Olrad?

Re: ia64 hp superdome server SD32A Itanium B.11.23

No you cannot:
Slot 0-1-3-0
Path 0/0/0
Bus 0
Speed 33
Power On
Occupied Yes
Suspended No
Capable No <<< this says it is NOT OLAR capable

Re: ia64 hp superdome server SD32A Itanium B.11.23

Both, Integrity or PA-RISC can either be sx1000 or sx2000 based - this is a real difference.

Re: ia64 hp superdome server SD32A Itanium B.11.23

... one of the differences between sx1000 (e.g. SD32A - this is what you have) and sx2000 based system is, the older needs to have at least 1 core I/O card in a nPar - that's why 1 slot (0) is reserved for such a card.
sx2000 don't have such requirement for a core I/O card.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.
