integrity server 2nd disk failed. mirrored NONboot disk or mirrored BOOT disk

Have an integrity server with 2 hdd using Software raid(mirror)

The primary hdd is still alive. The 2nd mirrored hard disk dead n been replaced and yet to initialize.

having doubts which procedures to follow.
1. Replacing a mirrored NONboot disk
Or
2. Replacing a mirrored boot disk

They key difference is option 2 will need to initialize boot info on the new disk.

From set boot we see the alternate harddisk

Root@server #setboot
Primary bootpath: 0/0/0/3/0.0x6.0x0 (dev/rdisk/disk3)
HA Alternate bootpath: 0/0/1/1/0/4/1.0x5.0x0 (dev/rdisk/disk5)

In my case disk5 is dead n replaced.

We have

Vgdisplay -v
Vgdisplay: warning: couldn't query physical volume "/dev/disk/disk5_2": the specified path does not correspond to physical volume attached to this volume group.

Im thinking should follow option 1. However would appreciate any good advice from hp users here.

Mthanks.

I assume you wish to restore the replaced disk back to a mirror of your boot disk? Simply proceed with the steps to replace a mirrored boot disk from the point of the physical replacement.

You are getting that error with vgdisplay as the new disk has not been configured back into the Volume Group.

If you need the actual steps reference this doc:

Re: integrity server 2nd disk failed. mirrored NONboot disk or mirrored BOOT disk

due legacy issues....

Everytime after the server rebooted and online, the mirrored disk will break.

We need to perform pvchange to reactivate missing disk and perform vgsync again.

Does anyone know which steps we might be missing?

Better open your own thread and tell more details, e.g. server model, OS version, etc ...
