lost boot entry when upgrade memory rx3600 Windows

Hi All,

I had an experience when upgrade memory on server rx3600 or rx6600.
We always lost bootenty configuration on Windows20003.
Is there any bug or a problem on this server

Re: lost boot entry when upgrade memory rx3600 Windows

Hi Leo,

Suppose will need to recover the boot option only if replace the system board or the I/O baseboard which has NVRAM for saving
the boot option information. However, I did encounter before system rebooted and suddenly the boot option had lost. What we need to do is just to recover back the boot option :

Re: lost boot entry when upgrade memory rx3600 Windows

Do you mean all OS boot entries will disappear from the EFI boot option menu? In that case, I assume you will see the only "EFI shell" boot option and "Internal Bootable DVD" boot option. Have you tried AC power cycling (remove AC power input) to see if it also reproduces your problem? If it does, I would suggest you will capture MP SEL entries and open an HP support call ticket for troubleshooting. Also getting the outputs with the EFI command "bcfg boot dump" before and after the AC power cycling should help the troubleshooting.
