rx1620, box is not coming-up

I have one rx1620 box. I power-on the box and connected to the console. On the colsole, if i say "CM>PC" , it says SPU is down, so i chooses "ON" option, and it given a message saying saying that "SPU is going to be on" . After, i i got CO (console), i am not getting any output.

Then I once again went to CM>PC, it still says "SPU power is down", and i chooses "ON" option. But still it is not actually SPU powering-on.

Please any one tell me what is the issue with the box? Why the box is behaving like that ?

Re: rx1620, box is not coming-up

Are you able to review the logs? Maybe you have a hardware problem, e.g. bad fan ...

Have a look at the logs and the status of the hardware (ps command).

Hope this helps!

Re: rx1620, box is not coming-up

PS says

System power state is : off
Everything (Temperature,FAN,Power_supply) : normal

And in the even logs i am not seeing any useful information, entire log filled with "Type-02" words.

Re: rx1620, box is not coming-up

Hi Kanth,

I have analysis Ur MP Event log massage, here is analysis report:-

"On Nemesis the Power Good signal indicates that the 12V rail is good. This comes from the power monitor that checks that the rail is plus or minus 5% of 12V.

The 12 power comes from the Power Supply and is used for main power distribution, the internal disks and PCI I/O."

I am not sure it will work or not. But U can try to this way.
Action Plan:-
1. Unplug the power cord in Ur system (rx1620).
2. Login MP lan
3. Type MP>CM then MP:CM>PC then press T
4. Cabinet power on
5. Press ctrl+B
6. Type VFP ----- (system main menu)
7. Check the boot status in Ur system

Thanks--Yaqub

Re: rx1620, box is not coming-up

Hi,

I agree with Yaqub to try to unplug the power cable and then to try to start you server again.
If this did not help I think that there might be a problem with your power supply.

P.S. The correct oder of commands to power the server is:
MP:CM>PC
Answer ON
Answer Y [YES]
Then Ctrl+B
MP>VFP

Re: rx1620, box is not coming-up

Thank you YAQUB and George.

Please can you tell me how you guys are done the analysis?

I have searched lot of documents in docs.hp.com. but i didn't find a manual which talks about analysing of MP logs. In few documents i can get only basic things.

Re: rx1620, box is not coming-up

If i go to VFP, it says "Non code is executing, Non-critical error detected. Check system event log (SL) for error messages"

Re: rx1620, box is not coming-up

So you have removed the power, then plug it back go to CM>PC, -> ON, etc.
and when you go to VFP the server is still in Power off state?
