rx1620 console
Yesterday I got a new hp Integrity rx1620 server. Since then I'm trying to access it's console, without success.
The server has an MP card installed.
I connected vga monitor to it's vga port and a usb keyboard, but all I can see on the screen is a blinking "_".
I've also connected the CONSOLE cable of the MP card to a serial port of another SUN machine and tried to connect to it using "tip -9600 /dev/ttya" from the SUN, but all I get is "Link Down".
Do you have any ideas?
10x,
Max.

Re: rx1620 console
The console cables is different with the one from SUN machines, perhaps you could find out is there any cables came with the server.
Part Number is 5184-1894

Re: rx1620 console
Thank you for the reply.
I have already read this document - it doesn't work.
Sandy,
Thank you for your reply also.
I connected the serial cable that had come with the rx1620 to a standard serial cable and the standard serial cable to the sun machine. I think it should work....
Max.

Re: rx1620 console
Problem solved.
The vga wasn't working because the default console was the serial port.
The serial console wasn't working because of a cable problem.
Have a nice day,
Max.
