rx1620 -f ans are too noisy

I have rx1620 with HP-UX running. Fans are very noisy. All firmwares are the latest. Is there possibility to slow down that fans ?

Dusan,

HP is aware that due to high exhaust temperatures, the fans on the rx1620 run most of the time creating noise. HP should investigate putting stronger fans on that system. But there is nothing you can do about it as of now.

Dusan,

Also, if you read the rx1620 Site Preparation guide,
http://docs.hp.com/en/rx1620_siteprep/rx1620_siteprep.pdf

it says:

Reduced airflow around equipment causes overheating, which can lead to equipment failure. Therefore, the location and orientation of air conditioning ducts, as well as airflow direction, are important. Obstructions to equipment intake or exhaust airflow must be eliminated.

These are very compact systems that come in a rack version only and are intended for usage in computerrooms/datacenters where the noise level is less of a disturbing factor normally ....
