rx2600 and Storageworks 2300- how to monitor disks?
Greetings. We have several rx2600 servers-- but one of them is going to be our NFS server. That server has a locally-attached Storageworks 2300 Array.
The connection was simple- and the internal raid setup works fine.
But, now I want to be able to monitor the disks in case of a failure.
The "CommandView SDM" software that shipped with the storage only works under x86 architecture. AM I "blind" on the array until such time HP has an IA64 implementation of this, or does anyone else have a clever solution?

The ds2300 is just SCSI JBOD. What OS are you running?

Re: rx2600 and Storageworks 2300- how to monitor disks?
Hi,
if you are using HP-UX, the EMS is the subsystem to monitor hardware. EMS supports ds2300. See the doc:
"EMS Hardware Monitors User's Guide"

Regards,
Zygmunt

We're using RedHat Linux ES V.3 for IA64...
