rx2620 Processor upgrade

Dear All,

I have a HP Integrity Rx2620 Server with 2xMadison Processors. My question is, can i upgrade my processors to Montecito? We have got the Montecito processors but after installing the same its not giving display. Any suggestion is welcome.

Thanks a lot to you guys for your help always..

Re: rx2620 Processor upgrade

I'm pretty sure the rx2620 support the dual core montecito cpu. Have you checked the firmware rev of the box? If you look at the quick specs a f/w update may be required.

"The HP Integrity rx2620 servers may require a firmware update to support Intel® Itanium® 2 Processor Add-On products shipping after June 15th, 2005."

Re: rx2620 Processor upgrade

Hi Denvor,

thanks for your comment and I also thinking on same lines but even after changing the CPU, motherboard and power supply still display is not coming. We have upgraded the firmware also to latest one. I am attaching the console logs which HP support team asked if that mean anything to you.

Thanks a lot for your help.
