Re: rx2660 can't boot to EFI

Hello,

firmware update is normally done via EFI shell. However, you state that the system is new so this is a clear DOA. By all means, you should contact HP before trying to fix the system yourself. In extreme case, you could damage it even more and/or void your warranty.

Re: rx2660 can't boot to EFI

Since this happen during IO discovery I would try to re-seat the I/O cards first. If this doesn't help, contact HP.

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: rx2660 can't boot to EFI

I had a case where the system was displaying similar error messages during I/O discovery after adding a second CPU. It turned out that the additional CPU was badly seated. However, the safest option is to open a case at HP.

Re: rx2660 can't boot to EFI

Hi all,
thanks for all your feedback.
yes the server is new, it came with OS preinstalled, and worked for 1 days and this problem started.
i have opened it, reseated all the IO cards, CPU and memory but still it wont boot.
i beleive changing the board will resolve it.
thanks.
