rx4640 firmware upgrade
i have a rx4640 and wanted to upgrade the MP firmware using PHSS_34994. SD-UX installed it properly, rebooted the system, however EFI boot manager complained that no update was found and fw stayed as before. Now i'd say that I can do it manually and that the contents of this patch need to be copied somewhere to the EFI partition (slice 1), but I have no idea where - does anyone have a clue?
What is the actual procedure to update the firmware if one does not want to use software distributor?
thanks
Michal

Re: rx4640 firmware upgrade
Please log on to the MP and run "sysrev".
Post the result.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: rx4640 firmware upgrade
Current firmware revisions
MP FW : E.03.15
BMC FW : 03.49
EFI FW : 03.14
System FW : 03.17
MX2 FW : CPU Module: | 0 | 1 | 2 | 3 |
: PIC FW: | 01.73 | 01.73 | N/A | N/A |
: DSP FW: | 01.23 | 01.23 | N/A | N/A |
i don't think this is too old revision. After installing the patch, the modification timestamps were not modified on neither of my bootdisks EFI partition.

Re: rx4640 firmware upgrade
Please check this (from the install instructions):
13. If the currently installed MP firmware revision is
E.03.13 or later, the MP firmware update will fail if the
"Allow MP Firmware upgrade via PCI" option is Disabled in
the MP Security Options menu. To update the firmware using
this package, enable this option in the Login Options
sub-menu of the MP Security Options menu.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
