rx6600 vga not video output
I have two rx6600 with hpux 11.23 dicember 2007 version.
In one of the servers I see the output for the console in the vga for the character mode (EFI) not when boot is complete.
When the machine start booting appear the message saying that there is not more output in this console. Same happen with the second machine but when the Operating system is up an runnig appear the motif in the vga monitor.
When I was installing the machine the board that contain the MP (serial port and the VGA) was out of order, when came the replacement I dont see the output by the vga console , only by the local port (MP port).
how I enable the graphic console to get the console in the vga?
I cheched the setting in the output console and is in the same way that the one that is working.
Some idea?

Re: rx6600 vga not video output
In the EFI menu in the server there is option for setting output console to VGA .Please change that after that the VGA will work in both the server.

Re: rx6600 vga not video output
If the console is on VGA, you cannot access it via the MP!
Check from EFI with
SHELL> conconfig
But you can keep the console on the serial line and use VGA as X display.
Is this what you want to do?
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: rx6600 vga not video output
If last line is commented out as follows:
# * Local local@console /usr/bin/X11/X :0
remove '# ' and restart dtlogin:
# /sbin/init.d/dtlogin.rc stop
# /sbin/init.d/dtlogin.rc start
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
