rx6600

Hi,

I have an rx6600 that has AB578A procs in it. I am trying to install AD389A procs in it now. The machine does not boot up but I do not get any errors. At the vfp it just says power on. I have updated my firmware to the 4.11 that is out there.

Any suggestions?

Thank you

Jon

Re: rx6600

Did you remove the older processors? All the processors in an rx6600 must be the same model.

Re: rx6600

Hi,

I'm confused from the research. From this HP website, the 1.6 GHz/18MB duel core CPU is part number AB464A, and an option for the rx6600:

http://h20341.www2.hp.com/integrity/us/en/entry-class/rx6600-options.html

Here, AD389A is the confirmed part number, but it is not an offical HP site.

http://www.cuetech.com/products/HP/REF/AD389A.html#

But there are other hits on the AD389A that verify usage with the rx6600.

Baffling.

Did you buy from HP or a third party vendor?

Re: rx6600

Make sure the firmware is up to date, support for these CPUs was added later.

Hope this helps!

Re: rx6600

I would check diagnostics panel LEDs to check processors status and FPL log for any critical warnings.

Re: rx6600

It was the cpu board.
