Re: rx8640 Console Hangs

It's not clear to me - do you already have a shell?

What about

# echo $TERM

Hope this helps!

Re: rx8640 Console Hangs

If this is a brand new installation without network access with hung console, consider to reset that nPar, connect to console and see what happens.

Hope this helps!

Re: rx8640 Console Hangs

Hi

http://docs.hp.com/en/5991-1247B_ed2/5991-1247B_ed2.pdf

This is the partion guide, 'CM', 'TC', 'RR' or 'RS'.

Reset A reset resets the nPartition immediately. in the nPartition are reset. On HP Integrity systems all cells are reset.
You can reset an nPartition using the REBOOT command from the BCH interface, the reset
command from the EFI Shell, or the RS command from the service processor Command
menu.

When back up chedk your 'ACPI' config with the 'acpiconfig' command

Re: rx8640 Console Hangs

I discovered that one of the two cells that form my partition is in BIB state. I tried to boot the partition with BO but it didn't work. The cell that remain in BIB is configured to randezvous at next boot. It is something strange here. I am thinking to put the both cells in BIB and then to boot the partition again.

Re: rx8640 Console Hangs

Use RS command from MP, example:

MP:CM> rs

This command resets the selected partition.

WARNING: Execution of this command irrecoverably halts all system

processing and I/O activity and restarts the selected

partition.

Part# Name

----- ----

0) ServerA

1) ServerB

2) ServerC

3) ServerD

Select a partition number: 0

Do you want to reset partition number 0? (Y/[N]) y

Hope this helps!

Re: rx8640 Console Hangs

Hi

Then this is a partition that you have never, ever booted, for BIB is deliberately set to make a partition 'inactive'.

The partition is now waiting at the BIB state, and for you to clear the flag before proceeding with the boot up. To clear the BIB
select "y" to use on "use-on-next-boot".

From the EFI shell use 'cellconfig' command to set the use-on-next-boot parameter and unflag the BIB

"...To change the use-on-next-boot value for a cell, issue the following command:

CELLCONFIG cell [ON|OFF]

where cell is the cell number, ON sets the cell use-on-next-boot value to "y" (yes, do use the cell), or OFF sets the cell use-on-next-boot value to "n" (no, do not use the cell). A cell that boots with a "y" (ON) use-on-next-boot value is permitted to rendezvous and...
