4 cell boards 2 patitions. Each partition has two cell boards.Partition 0 is disposable. Partition1 has Production Oracle on 1 vpar.
On part0 next weekend I will need to bring the whole partition down and split the cell boards(1 cell board for each partition) and create two new partitions.
I have set up and modified vpars, not npars/partitions.
Any advice, tips, or basic planning before I bury myself in this?
Thanks

Re: rx8640 vpars reconfig patition split cell boards
With a single cabinet you can only create 2 Npartitions, because you have only 2x IO.
Review "parstatus".
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

SolutionSecondly, record all the devices in the current npar and make sure that the I/O cards you want for the new single cell partition are all in the I/O card cage associated with that cell.
You must also make sure there is a core I/O card in the I./O chassis that you are going to use to creatte the new Npar.

Re: rx8640 vpars reconfig patition split cell boards
Right now there is nothing on partition 0 to back up.
Next weekend I have to make this happen.
Thanks for the answers....
