Does anyone know if it's possible to configure and use both serial consoles *and* the ILO network consoles on HP systems?
I got a brewing political battle to which the dual console looks like it might be the solution. I can easily see the hardware not liking that, though.
This would be for a variety of hardware - pa-riscs, ia64s, and just about any model imaginable..
Thanks for any info you can provide.

SolutionOn Integrity servers it is possible to use VGA as console, but if you do, there is no serial console (this means noting on serial, MP or iLO web).
>> use both serial consoles *and* the ILO network consoles on HP systems?
Yes, of course.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: serial consoles *and* ILOs?
Cool; so, just to confirm, if I have a serial console plugged into the console port *and* the network console configured, we could be looking at both simultaneously - presumably only one able to write though - the old
Assuming that's accurate, now all I have to do is string 119 network cables. I love politics...
Thanks.

Re: serial consoles *and* ILOs?
You will see over the MP network connection what someone else is typing via the serial connection. Only one can have write access at a time.
Hope this helps!

Torsten.
