sx2000 super dome

Hi,

If you have an sx2000 superdome as a test bed can you test sx1000 cpus and cell boards in it? Or can you only test sx2000 cpus and cell boards in it? I am not sure if you can go down in procs or you have to stay the same.

Thanks
Jon

Re: sx2000 super dome

Hi Jon,

the cell board itself makes (most of) the difference between sx1000 and sx2000.
Don't put a sx1000 board into a sx2000 machine or vice versa.

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: sx2000 super dome

Thanks but can you put sx1000 cpu's on an sx2000 cell board and will that work?

Re: sx2000 super dome

Hard to tell, because a CPU is not a FRU for the sx1000 (AFAIR). Most CPU types running in a sx1000 are not supported (too old) in sx2000 and vice versa (too new).

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
