Re: system board replacement on rx 2660

Yes, do as advised and post the output.

Shell> sysmode service
Shell> sysset

Normally this will be done automatically.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: system board replacement on rx 2660

Hi,

from the ILO by df command i can see everything is ok only server serial no and part no field is blank. and when server boot system health led is amber and during booting showing critical error message. from the user guied in the system board replacement procedure i can see :

"before replacing system board record all boot configuration LAN and ILO conf seeting by shell>info all command .

after replacing you must reset these value (recorded before by info all command)

shell>sysset command only verify info but

how can i reset these values?

Re: system board replacement on rx 2660

Please post the information Torsten requested.

As the links to threads indicate, unless the replacement was from HP, it should be able to be changed.

If it didn't come from HP then you'll have to call HP and they will have to change it for you.

Re: system board replacement on rx 2660

The product# and serial# is stored on 2 different places. If you now replace a part where the values are stored, the values must be blank at the new part.
Then the values are copied to the new part - everything is ok.

If values are already set on the new part, you get into trouble. Only HP can help now.

BTW, even my laptop does the same ...

So let us see the output of the commands, please.

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: system board replacement on rx 2660

Yes, the serial remains the same after the system board was replaced on my laptop.
The value is probably stored on the only remaining board - the panel where the quick launch buttons are.

As said, theory of operations.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: system board replacement on rx 2660

Two different problems:

- the boot entry
is gone with the old board. Boot up manually and use "setboot" to write this entry again to the new board.

- the serial#
is probably already set on the "new" board to a different value, hence it isn't likely really fabric new.
To adjust this, you need to go in a password protected area, but you can't.

Ask HP if they will help you.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.
