usb 2.0 disk of 1Tb gets "UsbEnumerateNewDev" at server startup

I attached an USB 2.0 external disk (Seagate) of 1Tb to one of the 2 rear USB port of an rx2800i2

server and got the following error during the initialization phase:

1,0,0,0 3400008101E10000 000000000007000C EVN_IO_DISCOVERY_START

UsbEnumerateNewDev: failed to get max packet for EP 0 - Device Error

1,0,0,0 5400020B01E10000 0000000000000006 EVN_EFI_LAUNCH_BOOT_MANAGER
(C) Copyright 1996-2010 Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P.

At the end of the init there is no device entry pointing to the disk.

Am I doing something completely unsupported in this environment?

Thanks,

Giovanni

Hi Giovanni,

I think the connection to the USB drive should work normally.

Maybe you face a communication issue here.

Please try to reset the iLO/MP of the system:
Connect to the iLO, go to Command Menue (CM), run XD command and choose "R" to reset the iLO.
This can be done online.

Kind Regards

Holger

IMHO you are right, because usb disks are not supported.

Hope this helps!

Well, it worked!

The only annoying thing is that it seems that unplugging and replugging the disk

you have to reset the ILO again to continue seeing the USB disk.

Thanks a lot.
