when keyboard is not working in screen saver

Hi.
I have one thing I don't know.
My customer has a rx1600, OS is HP-UX 11.23.
and the keyboard is not original hp product.
It is small like sub-keyboard.
The problem is any character is not typed when screen saver is working.but mouse is working and network is good. so when i can't type any caracter to monitor screen, I reboot system from network to use telnet.
what's the problem? I guess the keyboard is not original but I am not sure.
