which card must I use for connect MSA60 to rx7640

We are configuring vpars on rx7640 with MSA60. Can we use disks on msa60 as boot mirror-disk for vpars on rx7640 when we connect msa60 to 2 separate vpars?

I mean, there are 4 disks on MSA60 and we want use 2 disks with mirror as boot disk for one vpar on rx7640 and we want to use 2 disks with mirror as boot disk for the other vpar.

AD303 or AD335 wich one must I use? My MSA60 also have dual-domain.

The problem is this:

The smartarray P800 controller will be installed in 1 (!) I/O slot.

This slot can ONLY be owned by 1 vPar!

So you cannot use half of the disks for one vPar, the other half for another vPar!

You need another external disks for the second vPar.

or

first vPar uses internal disks,
second vPar is using external disks.

Hope this helps!

... since the P800 is PCIe, you need a PCIe cardcage for the server!

Hope this helps!

Hi Torsten;

I have use MSA60 with dual domain, and I have add 2 AH303A HP SC44Ge Host Bus Adapter
per each vpar. So cat it be solution?

my rx7640 have 2 npar, and per npar include 2 vpar. I try to connect 1 MSA60 to per npar. But each MSA60 include 4 hard disk. I want to use 2 hard disk per vpar.

This s what I found:

Q13. What is HP StorageWorks Dual Domain I/O Module Option?
...
Adds support for Multi-Initiator JBOD Clusters. I/O Module Option with the HP SC44Ge Host Bus Adapter will support HP-UX and OpenVMS on selected HP Integrity servers only.

I didn't see this so far, but it sounds like what you need.

With a single SCSI controller in the server you CANNOT share the disks between several vPars (see above).

Hope this helps!
