hi Guys,

i am currently having a rx 4640 that is blinking red light on the system LED. The server is running windows 2003 with oracle. After checking the MP Local log ,i don't see any panic system shut down. I also check the event view for errors. How do i remove the red light.

Looks like the probable cause of the blinking red System LED is these messages

It's always informative to see the log entries with the "text" mode.

The red blinking System LED may occure if the
system event log is full as an indication of the required attention.

Re: windows 2003 on rx4640

The red light will go off if you read the logs, unless the condition for a red light remains.

Run this from the MP:

MP:CM> ps

How about the temp?

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

When i do the Ps i see all the power supply and fan as normal. The red light is still on. I believe it is a Temperature issue.

Re: windows 2003 on rx4640

I assume you'll see something similar:

MP:CM> ps

PS
System Power state: On
Temperature : Normal

Power supplies State
-----------------------------------------------------------
Power Supply 0 Normal
Power Supply 1 Normal

Fans State
-----------------------------------------------------------
Fan 0 (System) Normal
Fan 1 (System) Normal
Fan 2 (Pwr) Normal

How about the Temperature?

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

I faced the same problem and it was due to overtemp.
