HPE puts the “Industrial” in “Industrial IoT” at IoT Solutions World Congress 2017

Industrial IoT Manufacturing AutomationIndustrial IoT Manufacturing AutomationThe Internet of Things (IoT) is rapidly transforming the way industries operate. Each year, new devices and solutions are enabling companies in nearly every vertical to do better business faster. The unprecedented pace of change is partly a result of the convergence of IT and OT (operational technology) driven by edge computing. This is known as the Industrial IoT (IIoT).

From October 3 – 5, IIoT professionals will meet in Barcelona for IoT Solutions World Congress 2017. This third-annual event is dedicated to helping industries around the world learn how to best navigate the opportunities and challenges that surround IIoT technology. Attendees will hear from more than 250 speakers, attend 100+ sessions, network with thousands of peers and industry professionals, and see live demos of cutting-edge IoT products and solutions in action—including testbeds and demos from our alliance partners.

No single company can create a perfect, all-encompassing IoT solution alone. That’s why Hewlett Packard Enterprise partners with other innovative companies to create solutions that help businesses in industries like manufacturing, energy and utilities, healthcare, building and infrastructure, and transportation. If you’re attending IoT Solutions World Congress, don’t miss these demos from our partners using HPE technology:

Experience a comprehensive one-box solution

Deloitte_logo.pngDeloitte, National Instruments, PTC, and HPE have joined forces to create a pre-configured turnkey solution that integrates best-of-breed analytics, software, infrastructure, security, and professional services. With the Turnkey IoT solution, manufacturing companies the health of their machine assets, perform maintenance based on their condition and use real-time data to predict failures before they happen—all on the factory floor, at the edge of the network.

Accelerate auto manufacturing at the edge

National_Instruments_logo.pngNational Instruments (NI), a leader in operations technology (OT) such as automated test equipment and virtual instrumentation software, is collaborating with HPE on a smart auto solution. Using HPE Edgeline Converged Edge Systems with NI’s PXI technology, this IIoT solution automates the quality assurance testing process in a car manufacturing assembly line. The superduo of HPE’s data center–level compute power and NI’s second-to-none measurement equipment enables real-time data collection and control of production-line systems. And the ability to aggregate data at the network’s frontier—on the assembly line floor, for example—means manufacturers can access accelerated insights through on-the-spot testing and deep IoT analytics.

Proactively detect and diagnose problems with predictive maintenance

PTC_New_Logo.pngThe exclusive testbed area at IoT Solutions World Congress showcases innovative solutions in an environment that resembles real-world conditions. PTC, in partnership with HPE, NI, Flowserve, and OSIsoft, will be demonstrating one of the most compelling use cases for IIoT: predictive maintenance. Thanks to analytics and machine learning, manufacturers can proactively detect and diagnose equipment problems, often before they arise. This helps avoid unnecessary downtime and drives significant operations improvements. The Flowserve pump demo brings predictive maintenance to life by combining pump technology with the latest data acquisition methods, edge compute power, and analytics platforms. It also incorporates advanced technology like Augmented Reality and VR based on Microsoft HoloLens, which is transforming the way products can be serviced.

See what’s powering the smart factory of the future

GE_Digital_logo.pngGeneral Electric is bringing the industrial revolution into the digital age by implementing IoT solutions to manufacturing processes in factory spaces. The smart factory solution will feature a FischerTechnik® scale model of a factory floor and will demonstrate how HPE Edgeline technology can be used to manage both factory control and quality systems. With the Edgeline EL1000 Converged Edge System and GE’s Predix platform, the smart factory solution optically analyzes components set on a work surface and directs a robotic arm to sort the components based on select criteria, such as size or color. This demo exemplifies how machines can work smarter and more efficiently to improve decision making and build an optimized supply chain.

Improve worker safety and well-being

wipro-logo.pngWhile you’re in the testbed area, don’t miss the Connected Workforce Safety and Operations demonstration, which shows how IoT technologies can help manufacturers facilitate safety compliance and reduce safety incidents. Global IT, consulting and business process services company Wipro partnered with HPE, and Aruba Networks, a Hewlett Packard Enterprise company, to develop this solution. An Aruba gateway/access point provides 24x7 connectivity, transmitting data from workers’ smart wearables – helmets, vests, and watches –to an HPE on-premises server. There, Wipro’s data discovery and computer vision platforms, together with cognitive technologies from Wipro, generate real-time insights and alerts for workers, corporate safety offices and emergency response teams. Aruba’s Meridian platform provides the wayfinding/location information that workers need to take action in an emergency.

Learn how analytics is creating safer, smarter transportation

sasl logo.pngAnalytics software from SAS, together with HPE Edgeline Converged Edge Systems, is helping to build the connected, intelligent transportation of the future. This demonstration will feature a mock-up of a truck running on a road, enabled with sensors that generate vehicle performance data that is collected and analyzed – all in the same place. The system processes three types of data – vibration and speed (both in real time) and engine dynamics, such as oil pressure – to provide a complete view of the truck’s performance. It can detect a wide range of potential safety issues, such as tire pressure variation or instability in the load, and alert the operator to pull over and assess the cargo. The demonstration will also show how torque data can be used for a second-stage analytic platform in SAS Visual Analytics. This is a great opportunity to learn about how HPE Edgeline EL1000 Converged Edge System works with SAS Event Stream Processing, SAS Visual Analytics and SAS Visual Statistics.
