We have two 2930F switches in a VSF stack. The stack link uses two of the SFP+ ports.
If the commander switch fails, how long does it take the standby to become the new commander?
Thanks

Re: 2930F Stack Reconvergence
Thanks for the quick reply.
You say immediately but what are the course of events for the standby to become the commander and can this be measured, even if it is millisecs?

SolutionThe Standby member is already synced with the master, so if the master fails the standby member can become master immediatly. If you have a stack with more switrches then 2, one of the currrent members will become the new standby.
I don't think you can messure this, but i can tell you, you will not notice it.
