3com 3016 T1 Router

I've got two 3com T1 Routers setup to communicate over a T1 line, the issue I'm having is I cannot ping the serial interface.



I cant ping the address of the local or remote serial interface ip address.



router 1 is set to serial address 172.27.0.2 and the remote router is set to 172.27.0.1 



On either one I cannot ping its own address or the remote address.

I have the same router, and I want to know how to do port forwardings. Please help.
