Connecting 1920S using SFP
I am going to connect 2 buildings. At each end there is an exsiting 1920S 48G 4SFP JL382A
I have purchased 2 of the Aruba 1G SFP LC SX 500m MMF XCVR J4858D
I do not have experience with fibre. Is it a case of plug and play with these SFP modules or do i need to active/ configure anything on the switches. Both the switches will be in the same address range.
Thanks

Re: Connecting 1920S using SFP
As per your query.
1. You want to connect two buildings.
First thing is this switch have any configuration if yes then you should be trunk the fiber port.
After connect fiber port to second switch, better same configuration on both of the switches, its easily communicated to each other.
My personal suggestion connect switch via 2 fiber port, its working as a active and standby.
If one going to fail second port handle the load.

Hello @itisok4me ,
J4858D is plug and play. Have you tried and tested?
Thanks!
