HP 2920 ports/vlan going up and down

Hi,

I'm not particularly experienced with HP switches, but could anyone help with the following? We have a switch with 3 APs attached. Two are 'normal' APs serving clients, the third is a mesh point, the link to that AP is the uplink from the switch (so the switch is downstream of the mesh). The mesh point AP connects to a mesh portal AP which then joins our wired network. I don't think (though I might be wrong) that the mesh has much to do with my query, but the mesh is unstable because of the switch issues.

What I'm seeing in the switch logs is a lot of this:

(ignore the line breaks, they appeared when I pasted)

There's normally a break of between an hour and 3 hours between batches of these messages.

I've seen ports going up and down on HP switches before, and have read on various forums that it isn't anything to worry about (though I would like to know why it's happening). I think I can ignore the lldp PVID mismatch messages, and I think the SNTP messages are just a result of the uplink going down.

Can anyone tell me what the 'off-line' messages mean? Does PoE turn off on ports when this happens? If this happens then when the ports go off-line this would cut power to the APs, which is obviously a big problem.

Thanks

Guy
