HP5500 : Jumbo frame on only one port
Hi,
My customer has 2 HP 5500 stacked (192.168.1.*).
They are connected to another lan as 192.168.0.* by a trunk.
He asks to me if it's possible to activate the jumbo frame functionnality on 2 ports only. These ports are connected on 2 servers in the same lan.
I readed that the jumbo is active on ALL ports of the switche when this functionnality is active.
Thanks for your support,
Nicolas

Re: HP5500 : Jumbo frame on only one port
Hi,
you can disable jumboframes on a per-interface level with "undo jumboframe enable" in interface context.
You are correct, jumboframes are enabled by default.
If you disable jumboframes on this interfaces, too big frames will be discarded and it might lead to packet loss, if done incorrectly.
Best regards,
Linkk
