OSPF router ID and Process ID creation in VPN instance in HPE 5930 Switch
Hello Networking Experts,
I'm new to OSPF and in our setup we have 2 X 5930 TOR switches in pair.
I need to implement OSPF for few networks. I would like to know if I can create 2 process ID with different router ID in same VPN instance? or we can create only one process ID in single VPN?
Process-ID Router-ID vpn-instance Area Network subnet Wildcard Mask
200 1.1.1.1 CHGSYS 0.0.0.20 10.2.14.136 0.0.0.7
300 2.2.2.2 CHGSYS 0.0.0.30 10.2.14.128 0.0.0.7
Can I create OSPF with above details in same VPN instance? This is a live instance and that's the reason I need confiramtion.
Please help me to confirm this point.
Regards,
Sudhakar Prabhakar Rao

Re: OSPF router ID and Process ID creation in VPN instance in HPE 5930 Switch
Hi @Sudhakar2006 !
Yes, you can configure several OSPF processes in one vpn-instance, there is no restriction like "one process for one vpn-instance".

Re: OSPF router ID and Process ID creation in VPN instance in HPE 5930 Switch
@Sudhakar2006 one more suggestion - if you will have any issues with learning routes in OSPF process running in vpn-instance, try to use "vpn-instance-capability simple" command under the ospf process configuration. But first, try without it.
Hopefully it will save you some time.
