Synology NAS connection problem after upgrade on HP 1620

Just an FYI. I did an upgrade on my HPE 1620-8G from release 106 to 113 and afterwards could not connect my Synology NAS DS212j. The solution was to lower the port speed from Auto to 100. Hopefully this might help someone else with this issue. Thanks and always stay connected!

Pretty strange since the Synology owns a 1000Mbps (1Gbps) Ethernet interface, that one - provided there is a certified Cat.6 Patch Cord to switch's port (Set to Auto should be good if Auto is set also on NAS side) - should work flawlessly with a 1620-8G Gigabit Ethernet port.

You’d think. :) If the port is set to AUTO shouldn’t it work even with CAT5? I don’t have a CAT6 cable to try, but may try to track one down.

If you are brave enough use Cat. 5...but, IMHO, at least a Cat. 5E should be used to test a short range (few meters long I say) Gigabit Ethernet link...a Cat. 6 certified Patch Cord is the way to go (and always was, speaking about setting up 1000 Mbps links between devices).
