VLAN 1 routing
Does HP have a best practice dealing with VLAN1 (default_VLAN) when setting up there switches? We have 3 locations connected together with GIG fiber. The switches at these locations are Procurve 5400 series. I noticed that VLAN 1 is configured with an IP address and has RIP enabled on each location. VLAN1 on these switches are also on the same subnet. When I check the routing table it shows all the destinations were learned though RIP via VLAN 1. Should I create a separate VLAN that handles the routing between the switches?

Re: VLAN 1 routing
You can configure inter Vlan for routing between the switches
