I have an HP 2620 connected to a port on an hpe 5130 swicth which is in turn connected to my core switch. The device on the 2620 cannot get an ip address on vlan 1.
the pvid on the hpe switch was 1 and the uplinks on the other switched were set to vlan 1 tagged and all the other vlans tagged. All other traffic works fine other than vlan 1.
I then realised that because the pVID was 1 it would not pass vlan 1 traffic but I do not know how to configure it. Any ideas please ?
Thank you !

SolutionI changed the pvid on the ports on the hpe 5130 to 99 (Just a random number not an existing vlan ). and add valn 1 as a permitted vlan. Then the uplinks on the procurve switches tagged on vlan 1 and now all working correctly.
