BAD DISK

Hi i have a i/o error ona disk and suspect bad blocks. How do i confirm it.

Hi:

dd if=/dev/rdsk/cXtYdZ of=/dev/null bs=64K count=1000

If the disk is bad, you should see errors.

Dear Vinay,

you can do the above dd test to confirm the disk.

you do a #mediainit to format (lowlevl)the disk.

Hello Vinay,

Do a # ioscan -fnC disk and check the for the status. Also, what does # diskinfo say ?
