Configure New Disk

Re: Configure New Disk

According to the formula:

0/0/12/0/0.1.18.0.0.2.1 sdisk - LUN 17
0/0/12/0/0.1.18.0.0.2.2 sdisk - LUN 18

it's not this hard ...

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: Configure New Disk

@Torsten

If I have H/W path than i can also use

ioscan -fnH H/W path -- this will show Device file

but how do i will come to know that this is the newly created Lun & same Lun id.

MY QUESTION IS SIMPLE.
SAN HAS GIVEN ME LUN ID SAY 004
HOW I CAN CHECK THAT WHAT IS THE C?T?D? of LUN ID 004

Thanks

Re: Configure New Disk

After ioscan and insf you will see a line let's say

0/0/12/0/0.1.18.0.0.0.4

This is LUN 4.

The cxtydz is below.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: Configure New Disk

hi,

if you use dmesg, the new lun will be there as i write some requests back.

for example :

0/4/1/0.97.21.19.0.1.5 sdisk

Re: Configure New Disk

No matter who run ioscan and insf.

But if you run ioscan the first time (without insf) you will find the pathes *without* device files! This may indicate your new devices.

However, if SAN teams say your new LUN is 4, simply search for a

...0.0.0.4

path.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.
