I created a new lvol8 and was going to create a new file system via SAM and mount to lvol8. I get the error "The LV you have selected has an unmounted file system on it. The last known mount location and modification time are show below: Unknown, Tue Jan 15 2008. By choosing to create a new file system on this disk you will destroy the old file system". It then gives me two options: Mount existing file system or continue to create new file system.
I have looked under /etc/lvmtab and anywhere else I can think of to get more info on this but cannot find anything pointing to lvol8.
Appreciate the help!

Solution
you can force it from the shell:
newfs -F vxfs -o largefiles /dev/vgxx/rlvol8
FWIW, it appears that a logical volume previously existed, and was removed. When a logical volume is removed, the data is still intact. So SAM created the logical volume, then checked it to see if there was already a filesystem on it, and found one.
